Collaborative story mode: new additions and features
We started playing with the task of Rio de Janeiro, where the characters' choices were limited to four: Lucio, Reinhardt, Tracer and Mei, a character covering almost every category: Support, Tank, and DPS. There is also the driver of the vehicle that moves us from one area to another but was not playable, Echo. It is noteworthy that the difficult choices were between ordinary and expert and in general, the story mode and character tasks will be exclusive to Overwatch 2.
The first thing you notice before you start playing is that each character has a set of abilities that you can customize and develop as you progress to the level, but unfortunately they were limited to two abilities in the demo so we could not try them all but we can say that they are diverse and change your style of play. For example, Mei can adjust its pistol to increase the damage received by enemies, then smashing ice fragments. With Reinhardt, you can choose to make his hammer swing faster or set fire to neighboring enemies.
One of the new additions is also the tools you can pick from the boxes after almost every round and contains 4 basic tools each with a different role. They are the temporary defense shield, attack bombs, temporary treatment area, and temporarily fixed machine gun. Each tool is similar to the ability of a particular character and this undoubtedly changes a few team dynamics and the need to balance the roles of members. But it plays a very important role in the crucial moments of nervousness during the fighting as you may be able to save your team after losing the Reinhardt shield and treat them after the fall of Lucio.
Story content and types of enemies
Overwatch is trying to save the world from robot invasions and talon agents. As they face these new and growing threats around the world, they must also discover the real motives behind the Omnic attacks. So in Rio's mission, we saw a huge variety of robots that we had to destroy to move to the other area, and in one area the enemies came to us in the form of waves and we had to survive until the center was destroyed and the final leader emerged.
The tasks presented a good level of challenge at both the normal and expert levels, with the diversity of the enemies and their abilities and even their numbers were especially dangerous if the team split and members away from each other. It generally requires constant communication with your team and effective collaboration to use the abilities and tools mentioned above plays a very important role in difficult moments. If you make a mistake and use them at an inappropriate time or place it will cost you a lot as you have to wait several seconds to save again. In short, prepare to die and try again and again until you find the perfect strategy to eliminate new enemies and leaders.
Develop a new competitive push
It is 6 players against 6 players, where you find a giant robot each team competes to be next to it. The longer the robot escorts the more the robot pushes the wall to the other area, there are almost 3 main points and the team that collects the highest number of points is the winner. I did not feel that it was a completely new phase in some way or another similar to the Escort tasks in which the payload pays the difference. Pays.
But to be fair, the robot character is fantastic and adds a fun character and depth to the game compared to the payload. Also, the nature of the phase is increasing competition in it there is no room for a draw and will be one of the phases with high replayability. The Push mode will be available to all Overwatch 1 and Overwatch 2 players.
General impression
The overall appearance of the game is very cool, the graphics are beautiful and bright. Whether you're a devoted lover or a new player in the series, you will be attracted to both. He developed the story of one of the things that I missed most in the first part and I hope that he will do justice to the characters and what we see in his amazing work in the animated videos and comics. Currently, I am still not sure of re-play its stages more than 3-5 times .. Possible because I returned the game task unit only and when the team dies McCann in the option of skipping the scenes and what you die for the third time memorized and can hear the dialogue line by line.
But the sure thing is that it offers a fun and long-awaited experience, as the development of characters and the allocation of their abilities also adds another depth and somewhat the strategic aspect of the style of play and initially choices are important and have an impact and not only increase the number as we see other games. So far it has not been confirmed whether the cooperative phase will be playable locally or split-screen only. But as mentioned, it will be exclusive to the new part, while maps, competitive phases, and new characters will be available on both parts.
So far there is no official price or release date but it will be released on current PC and home appliances Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
What do you think of the ad and what is the most exciting thing to show you the new part?
