Of course, we know that the sales of Cyberpunk 2077 have exceeded 13 million copies in 10 days, which is a piece of information from the studio CD Projekt Red itself. While we do not know exactly the percentage of digital sales from this number officially, SuperData has taken care of that task.
SuperData confirmed in its latest monthly report on digital game sales performance in December 2020 that open-world game sales and digital role-playing are the largest in history – even with refunds.
The renowned research and statistics company has hinted that sales of the cyberpunk 2077 digital game have reached 10.2 million copies globally at the time of its launch, making it the largest launch in terms of both the number of copies sold and digital revenues.
It should be noted, however, that this figure does not include the recovered copies we have awhile talked about. SuperData believes it will not make a significant difference to the record anyway.
As expected, the PC version accounted for nearly 80 percent of Cyberbank's 2077 digital sales – which probably explains why the total recovered copies did not affect the new record. Everyone knows that it was the owners of PS4 and Xbox One who complained about the game's dismal performance on their devices prominently.
The Polish developer unveiled the road map to update and improve cyberpunk status in the foreseeable future and confirmed that it will not be issued to the new generation until the second half of 2021, among other things.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PS4 (tablets only), PC, Xbox One, and Google Stadia and is now playable on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S via Backward Compatibility from now on. But it is awaiting the update of the full upgrade, which will arrive later in 2021. The CD Projekt team admitted that it had not done enough to develop the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
